Here's the patch, I removed the ul element in the selectors. I change the order so related CSS sits in the right order. I also removed the color styling on the active link. It's weird for modules to add color styling and I don't think it serves a purpose here.

Results from siteeffect:

On "/" the text color of the "home" Tab changed. On e.g. "/activity" the text color of the link in the menu changed. By looking at the patch I assume both are intended changes.

I agree with all the changes in this patch. Changes are just in core so stable is unaffected.

  2. It lets RTL do it's thing naturally instead of explicit.
  3. It removes the UL selector from being overly explicit.
  4. The color on the link is not needed as that is something the theme should define.

We need to move the link active color to stable to help with that visual regression but otherwise this is +1.

Drupal core is moving towards using a “main” branch. As an interim step, a new 11.x branch has been opened, as Drupal.org infrastructure cannot currently fully support a branch named main.
