At DrupalEurope 2018 in Darmstadt a group of people got together in a BoF-session to discuss use of diagrams with Drupal. We use diagrams for planning content structures and most common style was to draw UML class diagrams to describe entities. Diagrams can be very useful if working on someone else's project or redesigning sites.
Automatic diagrams such as provided by ERD-module can also be useful. Another nice lookin ERD-module Entity Relatioship Diagram came out in 2020.
We decided to
- Find out if there are common style for UML already used by core
- Develop a standard or style guide for how to use Drupal
- Create UML-templates people can build on
