English vs. U.S. English Coding Standard

On the Coding standards node, it does not specifically address if the developer should be using English or U.S. English (e.g. using color vs. colour) like it does in the documentation handbook (Handbook Style Guide). I asked for some clarification on IRC (thanks add1sun!), and she verified my assumption and indicated that it should be U.S. English.

Submitting this as an issue because I do not have sufficient privileges to update the Coding standards page.
