This week's agenda

  • change of meeting time? We'd discussed moving it one hour later or one hour earlier
  • DD&I Contrib project updates
  • Moving to Drupal.org action items (I should have it ready for people to move issues by this meeting)
  • Disbanding former teams - content, design, tech
  • What should be our protocol for when folks voice discomfort with what’s being discussed in this channel?
  • DC Nashville DD&I Booth and ideas
  • How we can make DC Nashville feel safer?
  • personal check-ins
  • DD&I anon survey form
  • request people RT and interact with DD&I twitter account

I'd love for us to invite people to follow DDI on Twitter (if they don't already) and help educate the community by RT-ing and engaging with our posts.

++ for disbanding teams, let's close the channels at the end of our meeting?
I don't have access to the design team so I'll leave that to someone else?

Related to "Moving to Drupal.org action items (I should have it ready for people to move issues by this meeting)"

This week, let's invite people to start moving over their issues :) They can filter the github issue queue: https://github.com/drupaldiversity/administration/issues to find issues they've created and create a new issue in our project queue here. No stress with the tags.

Components are:
- Idea (proposed initiatives can go in here)
- Discussion
- Meeting (for agendas and such)
- Moderation

Using the issue summary template, it seems like "Problem/Motivation", "Proposed resolution", and "Remaining tasks" are the most useful. I guess I would emphasize not to stress the details as we can help each other figure things out (thanks @drnikki for helping me!)

Next steps: I've started moving over the documentation and attached the docs to our project page (you can see a link in the right sidebar) https://www.drupal.org/docs/8/modules/drupal-diversity-inclusion. There's a lot of wikis from the github that will need to moved over and resources that might need to be condensed + moved.

We will also need to update the website to point to d.o and updating the general info (teams disbanded, meeting agendas etc).

Final steps would be some form of "we've moved" on the github administration repo :)

what's our policy (if any yet) for moving over issues from github to d.o for other people? Can we move them over and reference the person for credit in the description? (I've done this while copy-pasting the comments from the original issue)

@sparklingrobots will take care of finding a new sticker vendor.

There’s no meeting next week, because it’s a US holiday. The holidays can be tough for people for lots of reasons, so how’s everyone doing? (plus, woah, the news these days)

:one:.:one: I think we’ve shared some links in here (maybe this time last year) about acknowledging the bloody history of Thanksgiving and some alternative ways to “celebrate” it. Just came across https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unthanksgiving_Day and would love to hear people’s thoughts on this holiday in general. (edited)

You may have noticed that the meeting agenda is on Drupal.org. This is the official start to our d.o issue days. We need YOUR help, RIGHT NOW to find any issues that you’ve posted in our administration github repo (we’ll worry about the other repos later).
1: Find your issue, and copy it all
2: Repost it here https://www.drupal.org/node/add/project-issue/diversity
3: Post a link to the new d.o issue on the original github issue and close it out.

If you don’t want to keep your issue open, you can just close it with a note.

3

last week we discussed shifting the time of this meeting. It’s been the same date and time for the last 18 months, so if people would like to discuss moving the time, but keeping the day on Thursdays. We can start a new time on jan 1

4

DC Nashville is coming up and we need to start getting people involved and working on booth/planning/logistics stuff

This week, we have FOUR small tasks (less than 30 minutes each) that could be done by FOUR different people

1. Create volunteer spreadsheet and booth schedule (this is just going to be a few updates and cleanup from last year)

2. Find a great new sticker vendor(s) and figure out cost

3. A list master who can gather all of the DCNashville booth ideas into one issue on d.o.

4. A list master who can gather all of the suggestions about making DCNashville safer into one issue on d.o.

5

In another edition of “we tried it and it didn’t work,” our team initiatives didn’t really work. We tried! The leadership team and the moderation team will remain, the other teams will be disbanded after the meeting today.

6

:six: @sparklingrobots has DD&I Contrib project updates!

The permanent address for feedback remains goo.gl/dUVq2J If you have feedback for us about anything, you can share it anonymously here. Of course, my DMs are _always_ open.
