The background images for the messages are referenced to /sites/misc/... instead of misc/...

In deploy/modules/deploy_ui/css/deploy_.admin.css:
.deploy-panel div.status {
background-image: url(../../../../../../../misc/message-16-ok.png);
}
.deploy-panel div.warning {
background-image: url(../../../../../../../misc/message-16-warning.png);
}
.deploy-panel div.error {
background-image: url(../../../../../../../misc/message-16-error.png);
}

This is caused by the file structure we have:
/misc
/sites/all/modules/contrib/deploy/modules/deploy_ui/css/deploy_ui.admin.css

In our case, the urls should have 8x '../'.

Not sure how this can be fixed while still using the drupal icons.

If you look at the Bartik theme Status report page after issueing like chmod a+w settings.php on your drupal website (AS AN EXAMPLE !!!) ... this produces an Error in the status page.

The error icon is linked via CSS as:

table.system-status-report tr.error td.status-icon div {
background-image: url(/misc/message-16-error.png);
}
