I have installed the Sept7 Date and CCK 6.x-2.x-dev and the most recent Event module 6.x-2.x-dev. I created a new content type called Event CCK and gave it a date field. I then went to Date Copy and tried to import my Event module dates into my CCK dates. Nothing seems to have happened though. When I look at my list of content, no new nodes are displayed and when I filter by content type, the only Event CCK node is the test node I created before attempting the import. Is this not functional yet, or am I missing something? I am doing this on a test server but it is my hope to be able to import all of my Event nodes into CCK nodes, switch to CCK, Date, Calendar and do away with the Event Module. Is this definitely possible under Drupal 6?

I went back to Drupal 5 and successfully imported the dates. I don't have time to debug my situation in Drupal6 but I would bet money that the failure to import there is due to an issue with the Event module, and very possibly with the likelihood that my Event module tables were not pristine due to a previous aborted attempt to upgrade Event from 5.x-1 to 5.x-2.

So, to anyone else experimenting with taking the leap from Drupal 5 to 6 and simultaneously switching from Event to CCK/Date/Calendar, I would suggest doing the Date import first, ditching Event, and then upgrading to Drupal 6.
