Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
Now that there's a "Dashboard" module in D7 core, we should strongly consider renaming this Dashboard module something else -- say, drupalorg_dashboard.module -- and moving it into the Drupal.org customizations project. AFAIK, the utility of this module is pretty limited to Drupal.org -- especially now that a module of the same name with related functionality is in core.

SeanBannister CreditAttribution: SeanBannister commentedThe core implementation is geared heavily towards administration and has a very small feature set and a limited ability to be extended. I think the contrib Dashboard module has the potential to take this concept to the next level and allow any site to have a full featured dashboard for end users. I'd hate to see the contrib Dashboard be only usable on drupal.org . But I guess it will need a new name now that there's a "dashboard" module in core.

gregglesA new name is one thing and seems necessary, but I don't like the idea of merging this. I think it has value on its own as a lightweight per-user dashboard tool.

BenK CreditAttribution: BenK commentedJust saw this module page:
http://drupal.org/project/pdash
Has this been selected as the new name?

Anonymous (not verified) CreditAttribution: Anonymous commentedpdash will likely be the new name for the module. Hold off on moving anything until the people working on the Drupal.org redesign have had a chance to catch up and give their input.
