I just tested the new version and can't find any place to administer this. I've got the ability to check items on the permissions page, but am not seeing anything in the block or anywhere else. Where would I administer this from?

Alan D. CreditAttribution: Alan D. commentedThe config has massively changed
Try site configuration > Create related contact > add preset
This sets the default presets (update should have updated any "saved" content type based settings - saved means actually saving the content type settings after installing the module)
After having a preset, go to site configuration > Create related contact > configure content type defaults
This should allow you to assign a preset to a content type, which enables it.
The module is disabled by default on content types now, and a couple of the defaults are now set up for a production site rather than a development site. (Review all of these settings currently)
It was a 5am release, so I haven't had the time to update the docs currently.

Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedI'm dying to try this! Unfortunately for some reason it isn't showing for me on my admin page under site configuration, that's why I'm a bit lost. Whether I'm logged in as my root user, or as my admin given permissions for crc, I'm still not able to see this under site config.
These changes sound killer though!

Alan D. CreditAttribution: Alan D. commentedI forgot to ask, did you run the update.php script?
If no to the above, try that.
If yes, can you try a cache flush? (either devel or via the site performance page)
Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedI just tried both and neither worked.
What I originally tried was a cache flush, and I didn't update.php since I had decided I would just uninstall the previous version completely and start from scratch.
But now I've just done both another clearing of the cache, and an update.php.
It's probably ridiculous and won't work, but since I'm on my development server, I will reboot and see if I get any change. Be back in a sec.

Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedStill a no go and very bizarre. Maybe I should have tried to update the previous version with the new version, but I guess this can show you that the problem might be with the first time install of the module and not an update? I have no idea.

Alan D. CreditAttribution: Alan D. commentedOne last thing:
Can you try these links once installed (updated version)
?q=admin/settings/crc/list
This should be the listed presets.
And this one
?q=admin/settings/crc/types
It should be the way you active the content types by assigning them the presets
I've done about 8 upgrades and 2 installs, no issues, so somethings up outside of my scope. What versions are you running of Drupal?
The sites have all had menu, taxonomy and token installed. There should not be a dependency, but this hasn't been properly tested. Also added profile support for working with the user objects, but I have not tested. Some of the sites that I updated had this enabled, the majority didn't.
Cheers

Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedThose links worked! I'm on Drupal 6.10.
Ok, I just had a whimsical thought. I typically use the basic admin page. I just remembered though that some have told me that the module "administration menu" is able to reveal admin options. I just installed it, and sure enough crc is showing up in that menu, but it isn't showing up on the administration page.
Do you usually get to it through the administration menu module?

Alan D. CreditAttribution: Alan D. commentedSweet, I thought I was going crazy
The menu item was incorrectly marked as a local menu task.
I've fixed this and corrected some typos and hopefully release a new version soon
Thanks for reporting this

Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedI just tested and this is great! I really like the new configuration system. Very well thought out and much better than the way it was on the content type editing page before. I wish the location module would behave the same!
I'll test it more tonight.
PS. The new alternative node concept is superb! I like having that option. The only thing I could suggest there is that instead of "alternative node" it be called something like "reference node" or something along that line.

Alan D. CreditAttribution: Alan D. commentedIt was a bit of a functionality based hack fest getting the new features added, hadn't thought to much about the UI too much. Reference or template content? Will look at replacing node with content as newbs can find node confusing.
One last thing, I'm going to add the option to prepopulate the standard add content form. (If possible) This could address your link issues.
Trunkhorn CreditAttribution: Trunkhorn commentedI'm really liking this module, and taxiselect. Basically with taxiselect I had to tag all of these locations in order to get rid of my menu structure.
I still don't have any idea why drupal devs are so down on menus. Anyways, taxiselect made the task of changing info on thousands of nodes a four day challenge rather than the month long one I had anticipated!
I found a solution for my url access issue. I'll be using the path_redirect module to bounce users to the front page if they make the attempt to use those general paths I mentioned before. I'm going to see if the module maintainer of that has any plans to make it redirect by role.
I had a thought for something in the module, but it seems a bit hazy to me now. I think it had something to do with expanding the cloning functionality to whatever field types are accessible to a content type, but I can't remember what my purpose for that would have been.
Hopefully it'll come back to me.
