Alpha 2 has been released. Just like alpha 1, a stable release is still not possible due to bugs in Drupal core:

  1. #2573635: Url::fromUri() should accept protocol-relative URLs has landed yesterday — so that's one less blocker to a stable release :)
  2. #2666382: EditorFileReference filter: generate URLs for inline images has not yet landed
