you may have to post an issue to the webmasters query linking to this request to become a comaintainer of this module.

mh86 was active with commits and comments as recently as November of 2007.

i wonder if this one could be a direct replacement http://drupal.org/project/cck_taxonomy

the maintainer is not missing, I'm still here. If people want to help, provide some patches (I know some are already in the issue queue). As I said, I'm going to port this module in February, I hope I'll find time to fix some important bugs before porting

no worries, if you need some tested let us know

any help is really appreciated. If you can provide patches to fix another bug or to provide a feature, I would be happy and I promise you to take a look at it as soon as possible.

Hey how does this module compare to http://drupal.org/project/cck_taxonomy ?

there is a good comparison available at http://drupal.org/node/212834 .

Some of the bigger differences are that the content taxonomy fields are totally independent from the vocabulary settings and that you can specify which parts of the hierarchy should be shown in the form (by selecting the parent and the depth). Additional it's possible to save the assigned terms in the term_node table (cck_taxonomy automatically saves this in it's own cck tables).

Mh86, I'd like to help work on a port to Drupal 6, CCK and Views 2. Please contact me if you'd like me to help out.

Cleanup of old issues. According to maintainer: "active development is only done for the 6.x branch! 5.x is not supported any more".
Open a new issue if problem still exist.
