Go to admin/config/people/profile-types/manage/customer/fields and click "Add field".

In the future use Drupal Slack (room #commerce) for support, future support requests might be closed without answering.

In my opinion, the need for a phone number is no longer necessary. It is simply useless. At the moment, I, like many others, use uk temp phone number. It's very convenient if you don't want everyone to know your phone number. And it's also all absolutely free. I used to hate all sites and apps with SMS verification. I couldn't use apps like Telegram and WhatsApp. But now everything is great. I can use these apps and many other sites without this constant idiotic mailing. I think it will be very useful to other people. Good luck.

I disagree with you #8, phone number can be valuable in some cases : in mine, I want to use Customer phone number so they can get updated when a parcel is shipped / delivered. With no other intention, neither marketing operations nor spam ;)

Seems Like the telephone module from core is disabled by default, so it need to be enabled first.

Your note: «Some users reported that they encountered the same problem when using the latest version of Drupal Commerce.» similar situation here. Needed a number for both Telegram and Gmail. Used 7sim.cc/en, took a Canadian +1 phone number (real SIM, not VoIP). First code in 60 seconds, second in 2 minutes. Didn’t buy a SIM card, didn’t expose my real number. Clean, fast, and actually worked for both.

Hey falcon62, I believe your link might be outdated as it doesn't seem to work. This alternative site I discovered through Google truly amazed me - for the first time ever, I successfully used a free virtual number and received SMS on the first attempt! For anyone else looking, here's the working link: https://7sim.cc/
