When you click on the product link in the shopping cart you return to the product with the add to cart form. The problem is all your selections are gone. Therefore I create the Product Attributes module. Which modifies the shopping cart product link with the "line_item_id". The add to cart form is then loaded as he previous selection. (I modified the loading of the form, so I works only with some modifications of the add_to_cart_form.)
Since RC1 of commerce there are some changes related to the add to cart form. Conventionally you are using a line item to load the form. Since you change this, it would make sense to me, if we could move this feature into the core of commerce, because you need only some minor changes to allow the loading of a line item by passing the line item in the URL. (Instead of creating a new line item, you need only to load the one passed over the URL.) If we move this into separte module, we need to create a new Product Reference Field formatter, which makes not really sense to me!
If I would provide such a patch, would it be applied to the core?
