Drupal 6.19 site built with zen and cti-flex 6.x-1.1 Fixed width
Complex CCK form with fields separated into tab groups.
Works fine with Firefox, but on IE7, some fields (it appears to be the form_text fields) do not display.

I do not have more that 30 css files.
Works the same with CSS optimization enabled or disabled.

Strange, I've never seen anything like that. Do you still have the same problem if you switch to another theme (try Garland, maybe)?

Added the following to ie.css

.node-form .form-text {
display: block;
width: 50%; (width: auto; did not work)
}

Now the form_text fields show up, but the drop-down date fields disappear.

If you also see it using Garland, then it isn't specific to this theme. I'd still be happy to help if I had any idea why it is happening, but I'm afraid I don't. You might try seeing if there are any related issues in the CCK issue queues, or post your problem there, since it doesn't seem to be related to any specific theme.
