Hello,

I have created 4 content types for my website. I have installed a DDBlock on front page.
I would like to show nodes on this DDblock, selected by admin. In other words, if that node/article is worth enough, Admin will just edit that node again, will check the checkbox named "Promote to DDblock" and then this node ( which could be from any content type ) will get published on DDBlock, as well as in a block dedicated to that content type.

So I want to know if this is possible with CCK? Looks like I will have to add a checkbox with some arguments in it. (Though not sure about this and don't have much knowledge about arguments)

How do I achieve this?

Another problem is that though I have deleted some content types on my website, I am still getting their names on 'Create content' page. When I click on them, same 'Create Content' page loads again. What could be the reason for this? These non-existing content types are appearing for every user.
I cannot change permissions as these content types do not appear there.

Thanks! :-(

CCK does not include any automatic ways to do things like promote content, that's outside the scope of what this module controls. You might look at the core Triggers and Actions or the Rules module.

CCK does not do anything with your content types, that is controlled by core. If you delete content types, the nodes you created still exist and are orphans. None of that has anything to do with CCK.

Hello KarenS,

thanks for the information. I felt quite disappointed. :-(

About my promoting content to DDblock problem, I think I will have to try some other way. I tried Rules module and core Triggers and Actions. But don't think it will be possible with that.

But what about those non existing content types? Its fine that CCK has nothing to do with this error. But how do I remove it?

If I want to launch my site, I must get rid of those. Is there any way I can remove them from database? ( Not sure whether they come from database or not).

I just want to get rid of them.

Can you suggest any solution? Or do I have start from fresh installation with new DB?

Re-create a content type with the same name as the one you deleted. That will make your nodes editable again. Then delete all nodes from that type. Then delete the content type again.

:-( :-( :-(

I re-created those content types. Then deleted ALL the test content on my website. Then deleted the content types again. Nothing happened! They are still there!

I am getting two non-existing links. One content type, I had deleted totally. But for second content type, instead of deleting it, I had edited it, Now I can work on edited content type. But its earlier name is still appearing as just a link.

Sorry but any other solution?

Sorry, you'll need to ask somewhere else. This is a queue for supporting CCK only.
