content_admin.inc error when adding new content type

Just downloaded the absolute latest CVS of CCK and Drupal. Installed on XAMPP Lite on my desktop (Apache 2.2.0, PHP 5.1.2, MySQL 5.0.18). When I try to add a new content type (my first for this install), I get the following error:

Fatal error: Cannot use object of type stdClass as array in C:\xampplite\htdocs\drupal\modules\cck\content_admin.inc on line 78

...which refers to this segment in the _content_admin_type_edit() function:

    else {
      $type = new stdClass();
      $type['label'] = '';
      $type['description'] = '';
      $type['help'] = '';
      $type['title_label'] = 'Title';
    }

Line 78 is the line with "label" in the array.
