I want to develop a site that has similar functions like http://www.competearoundtheworld.com
Could you please tell me which module I need to use to sort contents/entries by deadline/prizemoney/entry date/other parameters?

May be CCK is a solution for it? Please let me know !

Thanks

Jakuas

Views + CCK should probably get you there.
The issue que is not the right place for such general questions, though. Try the forums instead.
