I am new to drupal and I'm getting used to the environment. Very basic question:
Is there a way to have the contents of the "title" field automatically entered when a user creates a new piece of content? So the title field would have like "John Smith" or something in it? I would imagine I could probably pass field information from the url, but I'm not sure exactly how to do it.

asimmonds commentedDoes http://drupal.org/project/auto_nodetitle meet your requirements?

steveeq commentedClose, but I would ideally like the title passed from the url and have it auto-filled in the form itself. I can't seem to find a module that does this though. Does anyone know of a drupal module that does this?

steveeq commentedYes! This was exactly what I was looking for. I was looking high and low for something like that. Google and drupal search wasn't pulling anything.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
