Hey,

This is a great module. Do you have any plans to port this module to Drupal 6.x?

Cheers,

Hi,

i have a similar question. I'm currently using the biblio module 6.x beta8 which is not supported anymore by the latest version of drupal.
But i'm still hoping it will work soon. Thus, i'm also looking forward to hearing from you annoncing you'll port the biblio facet module to Drupal 6x.

Thanks,
Sam

At this point, I don't think I will port Biblio Facets to Drupal 6 unless Biblio makes a major turn to provide tight integration with CCK and Views. See #234891: Views integration. As it stands, Biblio no longer fits with most of my projects, unfortunately.

Views support seems to be on the way, but I'll still badly need bibliographic data to be stored as CCK fields.

second that. biblio would be even more awesome if it stored data within cck fields!

Although I unfortunately don't see myself finding time for this, I'm open to patches.

There have not been a lot of changes to the Faceted Search API between the Drupal 5 and the Drupal 6 versions, so that part should be easy. The main challenge is to have a good grasp of Biblio's data structures so that Biblio Facets' queries can be adapted.

The publication type facet seems to be the easiest to port (I guess one could start with that to gain confidence with Faceted Search). Biblio's contributor fields will, on the other hand, require more work, as they bring a whole set of database tables that did not exist under Biblio 5.x.

I've just committed a D6 port of the biblio_facets module. You should find a 6.x-1.x-dev snapshot release for testing sometime within the next 12 hours.
