I restored a full site backup. It said it was successful. But now my Drupal error logs are full of missing file reports. they are all the files within sites/default

The site seems to be working, but some of the stuff on the backend looks funny--the admin nav is screwed up

I looked in my file structure and I do have the files there that it says are missing.

In poking around to figure out what to do to fix it, I found that I am not supposed to do a full site restore https://www.drupal.org/project/backup_migrate/issues/2466235 But I cannot find what I need to do to fix the problem I have now that I did the "illegal" restore.

Seems to maybe be related. But I extracted the files in the backup and my folder/file layout is the same as my live site and the same as I built it. But it just does not seem to see anything in the default folder, even though it is there

I have no idea what caused the issue but I was able to fix it.

1. I renamed my Default Directory to default_old then I unloaded the default directory from the backup. However, that completely took my site back to square one with Drupal and the site setup wizard. So I renamed the directories so I was back to my halfway functioning version.

2. I found a file and directory backup from my hosting provider and ran a restore on that. This got me back up and running.

So, not sure wat was corrupted in my B&M backup but it did not like something about it.
