I found this module after first find ing this post http://www.deepcorelab.com/article/background-full-screen-back-stretch-images-drupal-7#comment-931 and then finding the Backstretch module. I found this module to be the most useful of the three. In my use case, I added a field to my Basic Page content type, so that all the pages I added can have a different image. Some pages, for instance the front page, as well as view and webform based pages, are not quite as easy to add an image to. Would there be some way to extend this module, so that it provided a default image for views based pages?

yannickooFor this feature you have to use Backstretch module. Backstretch Formatter just provides a field formatter.
BTW: These two projects will be merged soon.
