Hi,

Ads from Advertisement module are blocked by Adblock Plus by default. Is there a way to make it a bit harder to block ads? The module directory "/ad/" is so obvious that anything coming from that directory is blocked by Adblock Plus, I think.

I've tried using the Raw method and override theme_ad_display(), theme_ad_text_ad(), and theme_ad_text_text() to replace 'advertisement' to something else. After doing that, the ads are shown, but image-based impressions counter does not work because it links to /sites/all/modules/ad/serve.php, which is blocked. Having /ad/ is just too easy to block.

To accomplish what you ask, all you have to do is rename the "ad" directory to something else. Then re-enable the module (no configuration will be lost).

Getting an error after renaming... the problems seems to be related to the Ad Owner module.
on line 577 of ad_owners.module. it says "Wrong datatype for second argument "

I'm unable to duplicate this report. Please describe your installation -- are you using an ad-cache module? What display method are you using? Where are you seeing this error? Be sure to grab the latest version of the code -- the line number you're reporting the error on has evidently changed, as that's simply a closing bracket. Also, after you rename the directory, be sure that you visit the Modules admin page again so that Drupal learns the new path to your module.

Title: prevent ads from being blocked too easily by Adblock Plus? » warning: in_array(): Wrong datatype for second argument in sites/all/modules/ad/owners/ad_owners.module on line 577
Version: 6.x-1.1 » 6.x-2.0-beta5

I just uploaded the Ad module 6.x-2.0-beta5, AdSense 6.x-1.0 to my host. After placing the "active forum topic" block into a Panel Page, I viewed the page. I then clicked on more and the forum topic to get to the topic page. The following warning is displayed:

"warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in sites/all/modules/ad/owners/ad_owners.module on line 577".

I have yet to configure the 2 new modules. Is there a patch to correct?

My website is www.ifvnews.com. It contains embedded flash videos. This morning, I received the following email from one of my site visitors (they were on www.ifvnews.com/content/ifv-videos):

"tried to watch video again today, went in thru firefox, saw screen which had disappeared, was able to watch promo but not weekly episodes. Below is the message contained in a red box below IFV Videos. Strange.

IFV Videos

warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/content/m/i/n/minkproduction/html/sites/all/modules/ad/owners/ad_owners.module on line 577.
warning: in_array() [function.in-array]: Wrong datatype for second argument in /home/content/m/i/n/minkproduction/html/sites/all/modules/ad/owners/ad_owners.module on line 577."

After receiving this email, I disabled the module. The site visitor confirmed that the warning no longer appeared on the site.

This is a duplicate that is already fixed and will be in the next release.
