Fatal error: Call to undefined function ad_link_attributes [#1619896]

Call to undefined function ad_link_attributes() in /sites/all/modules/ad/text/ad_text.module on line 58

Upgraded to latest version of Drupal 6.26 and Ad-module 6.x-2.4 (even tried 6.x-3-dev), but after update I have some major problems with getting the Ads to work.

I try to enable Image Ads, I get this error. I cannot update.php or even flush the cache
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ad_link_attributes

I tried and uninstalled the module and did a full clean up with no luck. Is there a solution?

Thanks in advance for any hints or clues.

I tried to upgrade to ad-6.x-3.x-dev. Running update.php results in an error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ad_link_attributes() in /sites/all/modules/ad/image/ad_image.module on line 31

After that I tried to run cron.php and got the following error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function ad_noindex_meta() in /sites/all/modules/ad/ad.module on line 920
