Hi I am not sure if anyone has posted about this topic before - please link me if so.

Basically I am having trouble with my base URL intermittently adding random characters to the end of the address. For example if my domain was www.example.com, the URL would sometimes automatically become www.example.com/LZpPU/ or www.example.com/LkZiP/. This then takes you to the "Oops page not found" page.

This doesn't only happen with my homepage, but occurs on my subpages as well, adding the random characters directly after the base url and before sub-page path. For example, www.example.com/LkZiP/?q=about.

I've tried clearing my cache, resetting my browsers, trying the site on various other computers etc. I've called godaddy and they told me that it was most likely an error occuring with the database.

If it happened every time, the problem would maybe be a bit easier to diagnose, but because it only happens intermittently, I haven't the slightest clue. Has anyone ever had this problem before?

Thanks for your help!

I am having the same problem with my site. I also have hosting through godaddy. I have not found what is causing this yet either, since it is only happening occasionally.

Your problem is most likely caused by godaddy's hosting. They randomly return a 302 redirect instead of 200 success page. There is no solution, they will admit it only under pressure and are unlikely to fix it. I would suggest you move hosts.

Is there really no solution to this other than moving host? It is a bit complicated to move now, and is likely to result in some issues with search engine positioning and other, not to mention the money already spent on hosting.

This suggested solution worked for me on the godaddy server:
