I need help understanding how FileField revisions.
I attach images to my nodes and then use Insert to put it within my content.
A while back, my images started randomly disappearing because they would be renamed to image-name.png_#
with the original image-name.png
being mysteriously deleted.
I thought I would try using Upload File Replace, but it didn't fix the problem.
I'm thinking of trying using File Newest Revision but it only has 30 users and so I'm weary of the support.
Can anyone else help me figure out what is going on and how to fix it?

quicksketchIf you upload a file with the exact same name, an _0 will be added to the file name. However if you're not replacing files, then there should be no effect on the file name.

philbar CreditAttribution: philbar commentedI have files at _15 and _17. There is no way I replaced the file 17 times.
Is there another reason images would be revisioned like this?

quicksketchHmm, Deciphered, any way FileField Paths could be responsible for this? I've not heard of such behavior from FileField before.
