Note, when I upgraded from 4.6.x to 4.7 then patch for 4.7.1
I noticed that after turning back on the search module, it was not indexed.
Just selecting the index button under administer->settings->search
was not enough, had to hit the cron.php a couple times to make sure it reindexes...
that was adequate.

However I noticed something else weird...

I had some old menu links to URLs that did not exist so I ended up on a "Page not found"
and tried the "SEARCH" just to find that page. Interesting... I was unable to SEARCH while
sitting on a "Page not Found" I had to select a page, any page that resolved and then
the the search would return results...

IS this a BUG or Feature :?)

BTW,

Here on the drupal site, try going to a non-existing page like http://drupal.org/node/999999999

Then in upper right try searching on something, like say drupal

And it appears that this issue exists for the main drupal site also..... should this be reported as a bug?
