Beatabet is an arts and music collective, formed in the UK in 2002; initially concerned with the running of experimental live music events. In the last four years it has mushroomed into a much wider group of sixty or so Artists (musicians, video artists, painters, sculptors, cartoonists, writers, slam poets, animators, film makers, performance artists, SFX specialists, VJs, DJs etc). Our Drupal-powered website can be found at Beatabet.net. Although still in active development, we are amazed at the speed this project is moving thanks to Drupal. We are currently specifying some custom modules and have many editors frequently adding new content. We are on the lookout for new contributors and allow all registered users to maintain a blog.

BTW, before you slam me for not being more specific about our experience with Drupal, please note that I will be adding further comments to this post once we're further into the development of our custom modules. Modules we have in mind are:

  • presenting media such as mp3 albums and video
  • maintaining our links pages
  • event listings - probably based upon the current event and eventrepeater modules
