SSL handshake

Hello,

I'm just setting up a Drupal-installation for an intranet, where people can access different applications with a certificate. So I got 2 problems:

1.) Although I've installed and enabled 'webserver_auth.module' and entered the according dates in my Mozilla, Drupal doesn't take my certificate but shows the input fields for a username and a password I want to avoid. Did anyone of you have this problem before and how did you solve it?

2.) If this worked, is there a possibility to use a SSL handshake certification (the client sends certification to the server and the server to the client so that you've got an indiviualized connectiong by 'distinguished name').

I'm now searching for hours to find a solution but the blog just won't work the way I want it to work. Thanks so far for your help,
