I have used lastest drupal and drupal on my home pc (athlon 2000+, 512 Ram, Apache2, php5, eaccelerator) and drupal worked so slow. I turned on caching and nothing changed. How can I speed up drupal? Is it possible? I have searched on community forums, but no results!
Thanks.

On my windows box at home I run a much slower setup. A recent XAMPP install with no tweaking/config'ing and things seem okay.

how slow is slow?

I guess many Web servers running Drupal have slower hardware, and it works fast enough - so, it's probably a problem of your system. Maybe a conflict with some other software like antivirus etc.

I'd say it is the way you have your daemons configured. Its not Drupal that is slow, its your setup. First look at your sql tune up, then your apache.
