The Duration Field was last released more than 2 years ago. I want to complete open MRs and make a new release supporting Drupal 11.

Hi! Thanks for your request and interest in this module. Really appreciate all the contributions you’ve made.

I won’t undercut Jaypan and directly make you a co-maintainer. But I will say I’ve finally got some time for this module again, and will be working the issue queue next week for a client gig. So I can at least move a bunch of your MRs forward (and hopefully cut a new release) in a few days.

Thanks again!

Project: Duration Field » Drupal.org project ownership
Version: 8.x-2.x-dev »
Component: Miscellaneous » Maintaining offer
Issue summary: View changes

The issue queue for "Duration Field" has not had movement except for this issue.

I have not heard from the maintainer Jaypan. It is unclear if dww can make additional co-maintainers.

I am moving to "Drupal.org project ownership" project

I got derailed last week by other things, but I’m going to make time today and tomorrow to try to move some things forward. Stay tuned.

Is there going to be progress made on the issue queue? There are a number of RTBC issues that haven't seen maintainer involvement; even since the above comments.

People get busy, which is just part of life, but there are a few offers to help maintain this module.

I followed up with DWW earlier today.

Hi folks. Thanks for following up. Still not going to add other maintainers, since it’s not “my” module. But I will have some time on Wed and Thu of this week to try again to move some MRs forward and cut a new release.

dww,

If you are passing on my offer we should change the status to Closed (won't fix).

If you are saying it is not your decision to make, I would like to move the issue back to the project ownership queue.

Just wanted to note here that this is the only module blocking one of our sites to move to Drupal 11.

Sure I can make a fork in github, but would be much better if it was not needed.

I sent a follow-up email to jaypan.

This is the message I sent.

Hello Jay,

I am contacting you because Steven (https://www.drupal.org/u/bluegeek9) offered to become co-maintainer for Duration Field (https://www.drupal.org/project/duration_field), a project you created for which you are project owner and maintainer.

May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3518915 about accepting or declining the offer? Please do not reply via email; we need a reply on the offer issue.
Without a comment posted on that issue in the next 14 days, Steven will be probably made co-maintainer.

Project moderators will not remove the existing maintainers/co-maintainers; the project owner will not be replaced either. Maintainers cannot change the project owner; co-maintainers/maintainers can only be removed/added by people who have the permission to administer co-maintainers/maintainers.

As last note: This offer is about being co-maintainer, which is different from being a maintainer. A co-maintainer is a person who does not have all the drupal.org permissions on a project. Even though being co-maintainers could mean having just a single permission, we expect a co-maintainer to have the following permissions on the project: Write to VCS, Edit project, Maintain issues, Administer releases.
If there is any reason for not giving all those permissions, please explain that on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3518915. We need this to know it was intentional and not a misunderstanding on what the offer required.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

The status has been changed because we are waiting for a reply.

Please post a comment after 14 days, if your offer has not been declined. It will show you are still interested in maintaining this project and it will serve as reminder an action is required for this offer.

My apologies, I have my Drupal.org email filtered to a folder I haven't been checking lately. I've added bluegeek9 as a full maintainer of Duration Field. Go at it, and thank you.

@jaypan Thank you for your reply!

As a side note, Drupal.org could benefit from an on-site notification system, to catch users (like me) who may not check their email, but be on Drupal.org regularly.
