Section library provides a great enhancement to core's base layout builder functionality. Our project is looking at using it to help users more rapidly build layouts that are intended to be more internally standardized.
However in order to meet our requirements, section library template entities need to be fieldable.
#3442106: Make section library template entities fieldable
This allows us to add fields like taxonomy terms and integrate with modules like workbench access. For folks who don't need additional fields, there's minimal impact. (It does also allow them to customize the image style of the thumbnail in view displays and customize the display of the fields in the entity edit form.)
Other issues where I've submitted patches:
- #3195007: Allow filtering between "Section" & "Template" and improve layout builder iframe modal compatibility
- #3487761: file_validate functions are deprecated, removed in D11
- #3442104: Replace deprecated hidden format option with Drupal 9+ approach
There are a number of other issues in the module issue queue that we'd love to get committed as well.
Finally, I'd like to help get GitLab CI working for the module so that automated testing happens with merge requests.
We'd love to be able to partner in supporting and improving this module if you are open to it.
Thanks,
Jess Straatmann

avpadernomahmoud-zayed, who is the only person with the permission to add/remove co-maintainers/maintainers, logged in at least once in the past three months. I am going to contact him in the next two hours (after I return to my computer).
