On May 16, I sent this email through their profile contact form to the two full maintainers of Views Bootstrap and have not received a reply:

Hi,

Would you please grant me full maintainership of Views Bootstrap? I am
preparing an updated release for Bootstrap 5 and there are several things
that need to be updated on the home page of the project, but I do not have
permission to edit it.

Thanks,
Shelane

I have been the primary maintainer of this module for several years now. I believe the project owner is no longer doing Drupal and I have not heard back at all from aburrows either.

Comments

shelane created an issue. See original summary.

Title: Grant full maintainership of Views Bootstrap » Offering to maintain Views Bootstrap
Project: Drupal.org project ownership » Views Bootstrap
Version: » 5.5.x-dev
Component: Maintaining offer » Code

These offers need to first be posted in the project issue queue, even in the case the offer is done by a co-maintainer.

Only mrded (the project owner) and aburrows can administer co-maintainers/maintainers. mrded has last logged in about two years ago.

@shelane You have been added as co-maintainer, not maintainer. For our official documentation that means a permission less than what a maintainer should have.
Did you give a link to this issue when you contacted the maintainers?

I apologize: You were already co-maintainer, since you made commits on Jun 08, 2023 and earlier.

The link I provided when I contacted the maintainers was to the project itself, not to this issue.

I will contact both mrded, who logged in after my comment I posted on June 5, 2024, and aburrows.

This is the message I sent to mrded.

Hello Dmitry,

I am contacting you because Shelane (https://www.drupal.org/u/shelane), who is already co-maintainer offered to become maintainer for Views Bootstrap (https://www.drupal.org/project/views_bootstrap), a project you created for which you are project owner and maintainer.

May you post a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3452710 about accepting or declining the offer? Please do not reply via email; we need a reply on the offer issue. In the case you accept the offer, you can also give to Shelane the only permission she misses to be maintainer.
Without a comment posted on that issue in the next 14 days, Shelane will be probably made maintainer.

Neither project moderators nor site moderators will remove the existing maintainers/co-maintainers; the project owner will not be replaced either. Maintainers cannot change the project owner; co-maintainers/maintainers can only be removed/added by people who have the permission to administer co-maintainers/maintainers.

I am contacting all the people who can administer co-maintainers/maintainers for the project.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

The status has been changed because we are waiting for a reply.

(I am going to contact the second maintainer.)

Hi @shelane! Why do you need a full maintainership of Views Bootstrap? You already have all the possible permissions to the project.

avpaderno’s picture

shelane does not have the Administer maintainers permission which, despite its name, is necessary (together the Write to VCS permission) to be able to change the default branch (and other tasks I do not recall).

I do not know why shelane asked to have full permissions on the project. I just wanted to point out that, now that some tasks are only possible from the GitLab side, people will probably need to be maintainers (from the drupal.org side) to do tasks that before did not require to be maintainers.

Hi, as we continue to move forward with this project and an upcoming full release of a version supporting Bootstrap 5, I would just like to be sure I have the ability when needed to update the default branch in GitLab as needed. D.o has been working to get more actions in GitLab as well. I am fully committed to this project and supporting it.

I've granted this permission, however as mrded created the project its up to him to decide if it stays or doesn't.
