Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Gábor, Hungary :)
Björn Brala (bbrala) Björn, Netherlands
larowlan Hi
longwave
quietone Hi

1️⃣ Do you have suggested topics you are looking to discuss? Post in this thread and we’ll open threads for them as appropriate.

Kristen Pol (she/her) I'll add a thread about contribution events
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Upgrade status 4.1.0 is out. More improvements welcome :)

2️⃣ Celebrations :tada:

Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) The 10.3.x branch opening and thus use of the 11.x branch for real 11.x things is worth celebrating IMHO!
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Also the formation of the PUWG (project update working group!)
Kristen Pol (she/her) and https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1708975144921289?thread_t...

3️⃣ Drupal 11 will be released in June, July or December 2024! See #3265677: [meta] Release Drupal 11 in 2024 for the main issue and a visual mindmap representation of the issues there.

Kristen Pol (she/her) thread from last meeting: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707764598274059 (edited)

4️⃣ The 11.x branch is open for development, new 10.3.x branch created... there are various changes to be made there to prepare for new major versions of dependencies and deprecate code. See subthreads. (edited)

Kristen Pol (she/her) I see https://git.drupalcode.org/project/drupal/-/tree/10.3.x?ref_type=heads
Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting 11.x was still being used for 10.3.x... has this changed since then?
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Yes! https://www.drupal.org/about/core/blog/drupal-11-is-now-open-for-develop...
Kristen Pol (she/her) I updated the top thread message to reflect this

4️⃣ . 1️⃣ jQuery 4 compatibility

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707764892318979
Kristen Pol (she/her) needs review asap: #3419734: [jQuery 4] jquery-form is unmaintained and not jQuery 4 compatible, fork it into core
Kristen Pol (she/her) once that is done, this needs work: #3420713: Nightwatch tests fail with "unsupported pseudo: tabbable" after jQuery 4 update

4️⃣ . 2️⃣ PHPUnit 9 to 11 all the way

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707765294996219
Kristen Pol (she/her) META #3217904: [meta] Support PHPUnit 10 in Drupal 11
Kristen Pol (she/her) additional issues that are active/needs work/needs review:https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/search?projects=&project_issue_fol...…]%5D=13&status%5B%5D=8&issue_tags_op=%3D&issue_tags=PHPUnit+10
mondrake there are currently 9 RTBC issues
mondrake also, #3422383: Convert remaining data providers to static methods lists all the remaining data providers that need to be converted to static methods. Some of them relate to conversion of mocks for which the approach is still to be determined; but for those that aren’t, help would be appreciated
longwave mostly afk today but aiming to get to those RTBC issues this week

4️⃣ . 3️⃣ Symfony 6 to 7

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707765604151289
Kristen Pol (she/her) META: #3394694: [Meta] Symfony 7 compatibility
Kristen Pol (she/her) Another META #3397519: [META] Reduce use of ContainerAware classes where possible
Kristen Pol (she/her) this one is fixed since last meeting: #3421371: Security update composer/composer (CVE-2023-43655)
longwave once we finish the ContainerAware meta and also land #3407159: [11.x] Add void returns for Symfony 7 the remaining work will become clearer
Spokje The committing the last mentioned one, just above, would really help to clear the Fog of War that's currently clouding the "real" issues.
longwave @Spokje alexpott committed this so we can find out what's next!

4️⃣ . 4️⃣ Deprecating modules in Drupal 10: action, book, field layout, forum, statistics, tour and tracker are planned.

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707765940125729
mstrelan Posted this in the channel earlierhttps://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1708916626879719?thread_t...
Kristen Pol (she/her) list of modules: #3265680: Deprecate dependencies, libraries, modules, and themes that will be removed from Drupal 11 core
Kristen Pol (she/her) critical issue: #3414563: Add new 10.3.x database dump fixtures, without modules deprecated for removal in 11.x
Kristen Pol (she/her) needs work: #3039240: Create a way to declare a plugin as deprecated
Kristen Pol (she/her) still needs a reroll as it's a blocker #2844302: Move Field Layout data model and API directly into \Drupal\Core\Entity\EntityDisplayBase
larowlan I think it's fine to update the documentation steps Michael

5️⃣ Drupal 10 to 11 automated tooling: Project update bot!

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707766269753339 (edited)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) @Björn Brala (bbrala) made some progress here even though I promised two weeks ago. Sorry for dragging my feet and thanks @Björn Brala (bbrala)
Kristen Pol (she/her) progress here: #3286278: Project Update Bot should create MRs instead of using patches

6️⃣ Annotations to attributes

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707767417768369 (edited)
Kristen Pol (she/her) META #3396165: [meta] Convert all core plugin types to attribute discovery
Kristen Pol (she/her) lots of child issues to work on
larowlan We need to decide on #3421793: Add an assert that ensures all attribute plugins support derivers to unblock these

7️⃣ Project update working group

Kristen Pol (she/her) last meeting's discussion: https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C03L6441E1W/p1707767650593409 (edited)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) This was just approved :) (edited)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) https://git.drupalcode.org/project/governance/-/blob/main/charters/proje...
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Thanks @larowlan for spearheading this!
larowlan Keen for reviews on draft announcement
larowlan https://docs.google.com/document/d/1MUgEIpzrAszuUoEoRGq1UZuuWmQgUqgLFlMO...
greg-boggs The document looks great. I made some possible suggestions for the wordings on should vs must and asked a question about equity. I wouldn't deem my review as especially important, I just thought it might be helpful to consider.
larowlan Thanks mate - I haven't had any feedback so appreciate it
Björn Brala (bbrala) Left a comment. Looking good.
larowlan Thanks :+1:
larowlan How long do we think applications should remain open - 3 weeks? more? End of march?
larowlan Midnight UTC Mar 31 2024 seems reasonable, gives us a few months before D11's first release date to get off the ground
Kristen Pol (she/her) sounds good to me, thanks

8️⃣ Planned focus on updating contributed modules at DrupalCon contribution event or other events

Kristen Pol (she/her) Topic raised by me...curious if anyone has any plans for this at DrupalCon or another community event (edited)
Kristen Pol (she/her) I pinged the #mentoring-team channel and some other channels for feedback (edited)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) I raised this with @hestenet (he/him) and @Alex Moreno earlier :) I think we need three dedicated contrib events possibly scattered into the two session days or at least announced well ahead for contrib day:"This goes to 11" contrib porting ;)Drupal 7 migration helpDrupalCI to GitLab CI transition help
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) I originally thought there will be more than two session days but given this schedule it may be best to pre-announce these for contrib day.
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Would be important to sign up a few key people to promote with. Anyone want to be part of the Drupal 11 porting helper team?

9️⃣ Upgrade status 4.1.0 is out. More improvements welcome :slightly_smiling_face:

Kristen Pol (she/her) Topic raised by @Gábor Hojtsy (he/him)https://www.drupal.org/project/upgrade_status/releases/4.1.0 (edited)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Two other suggestions that people worked on and I've been looking into since then is Drush exit code support for CI integrations. And better Gin styling.
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) #3175323: The analyze command should report proper exit code
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) And[#3307587] is for Gin (and a minor style change in Claro)
Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Reviews on these would be welcome + your pet issues may get more attention now that Drupal 11 is coming and this tool is again in the spotlight.

🔟 Thanks all for coming to the meeting. Continue chatting in the threads. Next one planned in two weeks!

Gábor Hojtsy (he/him) Thanks @Kristen Pol (she/her) for running the meeting on such short notice! :blue_heart:
