New methods have been added to the configuration schema \Drupal\Core\Config\Schema\Mapping class.

These methods help with adopting more helpful validation of configuration, for end users and developers alike. They are available for advanced Config Management modules in contrib (e.g. https://www.drupal.org/project/config_split, https://www.drupal.org/project/config_inspector) to use.

No code changes are required. These are available for anybody to build upon without having to reinvent the wheel.

The methods are:

  1. Mapping::getValidKeys()
  2. Mapping::getRequiredKeys()
  3. Mapping::getOptionalKeys()
  4. Mapping::getDynamicallyValidKeys()
