It would be good if we can put the imagecache preset (e.g "background_slide" preset) for the background of the views slideshow related to the node image field data.
Maybe by modifying the css.

We can see a good sample on www.cnet.com

That is outside the scope of this module. You can just use theming and CSS to achieve that effect.
