Discussion around discussion from NEDCamp contribution day that Categories may not be needed
- thinking is that most folks search by term and only use additional filtering to narrow down the results
- possibly change search to include categories in the fields included in the text search
- experienced site builders like granularity
- recipes would be a helpful filter
- maybe limit to a certain # of recipes for each use case
- issue is a pletharer or other modules will fall off the radar if this is the only filter
- issue is that new folks don;t know the term to search for
- categories put people in the right area
- a category gives a signpost of what a module can do
- categories are important - need to pare down the list
- full text search should go across all fields
Each attendee added 0 for neutral, -1 for not a useful category or 1 for a useful category
We calculated how many of each number the category received and we decided to skip those with unanimous 1 or -1
We started discussion of the desciptions (scopes)

| rkoller | i am currently writing an answer. cuz greg made a few good points in his answers. even though we are half way through he provides a few excellent takes and perspectives on a few points. and i also added next weeks meeting and made him aware in case he has time and interest. few more minutes then i am done with the commnet |
| rkoller | ok updated the spreadsheets. added the missing pieces provided by james and added the questonnaire by greg ( and will update the missing bits in his part when he updates his google doc). and then i’ve formatted the tables a bit more. switched on wrapping, made the font sizes a bit bigger and more legible and set some alignments. will add a few comments tonight or tomorrow |
