1️⃣  The UI installer issue is unblocked! Reviews needed

chrisfromredfin On this issue, which is the correct branch - I assume install-gui since it has the MR?
timplunkett (he/him) Correct
chrisfromredfin Do I need a particular version of package_manager to test this?
timplunkett (he/him) Yes, I would get latest dev
timplunkett (he/him) we need to coordinate a new release with them
bnjmnm For now it will be composer require 'drupal/automatic_updates:2.x-dev@dev'A 2.5 release that does what we need should be tagged later today
timplunkett (he/him) @rkoller ^
chrisfromredfin I got it spun up in DrupalPod. Noticed one small UI change I'd like (to move the experimental option below the source-selection options) - I'll update the ticket. BUT, even when I check the box and hit save, I still just see "View Commands" in the UI.
chrisfromredfin (Even after flushing cache)
chrisfromredfin Any ideas from anyone?
rkoller thanks @timplunkett (he/him). i’ve already installed the dev release of automatic updates. was a bit confused cuz i still ran into you have symlinks in your project folder. but figured out that after removing drush from composer the error was gone. so drush would have to add its symlinks to the exceptions in package manager as well?
chrisfromredfin (I initially had just updated package_manager to 2.x-dev - but I used the command Ben provided, still same)
bnjmnm It won't work in DrupalPod from a fork as the entire project_browser directory is a Symlink
chrisfromredfin ahhh ok
chrisfromredfin so I need to test locally. I can do that.
bnjmnm There should have been a message stating as much, so I'll see if there are reasons for that happening.Probably worth clarifying that the recent changes to Package Manager doesn't result in symlinks being supported overall, unfortunately. It does allow certain symlinky files/directories to be ignored by the staging process if we know they can safely be ignored such as node_modules
bnjmnm I think it still objects to the drush symlinks in /vendor and it's a bummer not being able to run drush those instances
rkoller one question i’ve made a few comments with points i’ve noticed in previous versions of the svelt ui patch. most of them still apply. should i consolidate them in a new comment. or should some of them moved out in separate issue for not to block the general feature. which already works great. and it feels like it became significantly faster to add and install something compared to the last time i’ve tested (edited)
timplunkett (he/him) new issues please, unless you think they are worth blocking it. and one comment pointing to the new issues
rkoller no nothing is a real blocker. everything is ux and a11y related
rkoller checked the open points again. i think the point in #11.4 should be fixed in the svelt issue already. it is about adjusting the terminology. something that was done for project browser before. meaning change download to add and enable to install. those two terms are used as option labels in the drop button in the svelt ui patch. that might be the only thing that would make sense to change already there. (edited)
rkoller i’ll make the svelt ui issue the parent issue.
rkoller created the issues now and left an additional comment on the issue: #3312289: Svelte UI for install controllers#comment-14770694
James Shields Cool. I will try out the installer.

2️⃣  When should we release 1.0.0-beta2? It's been 3.5 months and >50 commits since then

timplunkett (he/him) Should we wait for the UI Installer, or get a beta out right away?
timplunkett (he/him) @chrisfromredfin ^
chrisfromredfin If we think the UI Installer is inside of a week (if we get reviews, but Fran @fjgarlin and I can probably commit to that) then I would wait on it
fjgarlin that’d be a great one to have in the next release. agree that if it’s within a week we can wait, otherwise we can release the +50 commits we already have 🙂
timplunkett (he/him) we should do another fixture update as well
chrisfromredfin Yeah good thought. I can get that going now. It's much easier to do now iirc

James Shields It would be great to have the installer in the next beta if it can be achieved. It will really take the project to the next level.
James Shields By the way, I was very amused by the video played at DrupalCon, and the line "and because it's her development site, she can go ahead and install the module with the installer."Really? I just can't imagine a dog groomer having a development site!

3️⃣ @bsnodgrass (he/him) @rkoller is the 'final' subjective review of our initial card sort done, or are we waiting for Bob's final feedback still? Would be nice to take a second stab at that. Also in Prague I made a donation to an online card-sorter, so I have access to that if we want to just run some additional closed sorts (when we get to that point)

bsnodgrass (he/him) Yes, I misunderstood about targeting only one category each in my doc. I will do that yet this morning.
bsnodgrass (he/him) Just catching up on all the threads... it's been a Monday all week so far and I am finally digging out!
leslieg I'll finish mine as well @chrisfromredfin
rkoller great. if both questionnaires are in how about set up a video call one or two days after that everyone is able to review the available questionnaires to have an informed discussion to revise the current list of categories (might be worth a thought to invite everyone who filled out a questionnaire). then the revised list and questionnaires could be sent out to a new group of people for the next round.
bsnodgrass (he/him) Yay!
bsnodgrass (he/him) back in about 20 minutes to dive back into Project Browser stuff and catch up
chrisfromredfin love it. @leslieg do you want to use your regular tuesday time to do that or are there people who filled it out that that wouldn't work for?
rkoller four out of seven participants are already in this thread. we might ping the other three and ask if the regular tuesday hour for pb would be ok with them as well (and if they would want to participate at all in a call in the first place).
rkoller i’ve asked phil, he would be free next tuesday and also be willing to join a video call. it would be 4pm ET? (edited)
philipnorton42 you mean this one @rkoller?
