AmyJune (volkswagenchick) AmyJune here.
jjcs227 Hello @leslieg @AmyJune (volkswagenchick)!

1️⃣ Introduce yourself here when you join the meeting

tim Hello Tim here
shaal Hello
tim So I discovered things in google sheets and comments that I didn't know about today  -  If you are frustrated with the comments in google sheets like I am Look at this site for helpful tips about commentshttps://www.howtogeek.com/736056/how-to-collaborate-with-comments-in-goo...(Only posted because was so helpful to me. Sorry if off topic) (edited)
leslieg @tim check out the comment I added to the first sheet in the Top 100 modules spreadsheet to see if they meet this goal
jjcs227 Hello Everyone! jj from discover drupal!.
pearcraft Hello everyone! @pearcraft from DCO!:skin-tone-5:
tim @leslieg I looked but I am not following /finding the comment.  What is the sheet name and maybe cell number?
leslieg @tim sheet name is “New - from d.o module page” and comments are on each Row 3 title
tim oh yes
el7cosmos Hi
leslieg hi @el7cosmos Feel free to take a look at thread 3 and add to the spreadsheet if you would like. Let me know if you have any questions

2️⃣ Members of the Discover Drupal program have joined this channel and will be helping us out with the Project Browser Initiative. If you are from that group (trainee or mentor), please say hi and let us know where your interests are. Back end development, design, testing, site building or anything else (including I have no idea at this point). All are welcome to help and no experience is needed

prodigyjoe Joseph here:blob_wave:I’m interested in testing & site building, and open to helping any other way!
leslieg Have any of the Discover Drupal students attempted to create an issue for meeting notes? I don’t see any activity in the spreadsheet that @AmyJune (volkswagenchick) created. Do you have questions on what to do?
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) I haven’t seen any activity either…
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) I walked through the issue that provided instructions, and it seemed straightforward enough. Hoping the students get in there today so they can ask questions during their office hours
prodigyjoe Sorry, haven’t created an issue for the meeting notes yet but I can use a refresher if possible
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) Will you be at office hours today? We can walk through this togther.
prodigyjoe Yes, I will be
prodigyjoe That would be super helpful, thank you!

3️⃣ Starting fresh on the list of Top 100 modules- Yikes. Issue - the list of top 100 most popular modules that are returned by the prototype of the project browser include all versions of Drupal. We are looking for Drupal 9 supported modules only. Proposed resolution - we will use the results of a query run manually against the drupal.org modules page that has the filters we want in the default result set of Top 100 modules. See row 1 of the first sheet for the query to run).  A new sheet (New - from d.o module page) was added to the “Drupal.org “Top 100 Modules” google doc.  This will need to be a manual process: 1. Run the query in row one. 2. Fill in the next project name in the search results and then the other columns. Descriptions for each column are in comments.  Is this process clear? (edited)

leslieg @AmyJune (volkswagenchick) @Allison Manley Does this seem like something your group could help with after creating meeting note issues? Are the goals and instructions clear?
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) I will go through the instructions, but I invite the students to help with this.. IF there are any gaps in the knowledge base they can ask here.
leslieg @pearcraft once we find the top 100. modules meeting the criteria, would it be difficult for you to add the categories to the list like you did before?
pearcraft Not at all, I'll get it done by 1 pm PST Feb 11th! Thanks for the clarification @leslieg!
tim Would others benefit from a walk through from a screen share if @leslieg you were to share your screen?
leslieg I can do a screen share if helpful for the top 100 modules. Anyone interested?
leslieg I will demo the Top 100 spreadsheet process at https://meet.redfinsolutions.com/projb
leslieg @prodigyjoe @tim @AmyJune (volkswagenchick) @pearcraft  all are welcome to join
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) I have to pass, I am in a meeting for Florida Camp
tim So    I am looking at Entity Reference RevisionsI am new. I know what an Entity is, sort of know about references, I don't know if the descriptionAdds a Entity Reference field type with revision support. It's based on the core Entity Reference module but allows you to reference a specific entity revision. This is useful for modules like Paragraphs and Inline Entity Form.is really good. I am going to say yes in the spreadsheet field, but I really don't know.   SOO I am trusting someone is going to come afterwards and check do these really make sense and are accurate. (edited)
tim I guess I am thinking "Can we put a summary in 2 sentences for totally new beginners" ?Probably not but do the best we can?
mradcliffe That's the process I was attempting to do as well.
leslieg Comment on this issue to get contribution credit for helping to update the new sheet in the google doc. Let us know what you worked on.
leslieg Since our target audience is newer site builders and those new to Drupal we need to make sure the short descriptions (first sentence or two) are easy to understand by this audience. Since the Discover Drupal students will be helping fill out the spreadsheet we should get a good indication of which descriptions meet that goal. Hope this answers your questions above @tim @mradcliffe (edited)
leslieg Thanks to all who have started adding modules to the spreadsheet
tim @leslieg My question still exists, but maybe there is no good answer yet.  Let me ask it differently'What would an experienced site builder expect for a summary here for this example', then as a newbie I would compare that to the existing summary.  It is very likely neither explanation would make sense to me.   That is how little I know of Drupal.Current description for https://www.drupal.org/project/entity_reference_revisionsAdds a Entity Reference field type with revision support. It's based on the core Entity Reference module but allows you to reference a specific entity revision. This is useful for modules like Paragraphs and Inline Entity Form.
tim @pearcraft If you want an automated way to get the categories let me know, I will show you how (Although it is old data possibly) (edited)
tim @leslieg @pearcraft I am asking here because I feel like I don't own the spreadsheet enough to just do- On the sheet/tab 'New - from d.o module page' from https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1uZULaKLt5nwzYfzsrIUYLPEEO1dZFl5c...   I think it would be beneficial to add a column(s) that would indicate if the module on this row is in either Kwame's or Tim's list.  Would that be helpful?  I can do just like was done with the others.Or Leslie just create the columns where you would want them (maybe a comment like last time)Looks like @jjcs227 really went to town!!!    We are at 120!(that is a big THANK YOU)  is it ok to shout??
AmyJune (volkswagenchick) Woot @jjcs227 !
chrisfromredfin @tim i TOTALLY feel like you could add a "in tim's list" column, and should :slightly_smiling_face:
mradcliffe It might be possible to do a vlookup or whatever based on the project url
leslieg Thanks @jjcs227 fo your efforts. Much appreciated
mradcliffe I added a vlookup formula for In Tim's List.
leslieg Thanks @mradcliffe
leslieg @pearcraft list (see “OLD-Top 100 Modules” sheet) was based off of@chrisfromredfin list from the PB prototype, so there probably aren’t a lot of matches there (it included D6 and up). Bringing in the category entries for the items that do match would be helpful, but not sure best way to do that. Add the same columns for Categories that Kwame had and grab values for the matching rows from his sheet? What do you think @mradcliffe (edited)
mradcliffe Categories would be useful for evaluating the list.
mradcliffe If the new Top 100 Modules is the query we're using, then do we need to evaluate?
leslieg Categories is another large topic for us. We will need to identify which categories each of the top 100 are using. I would like to use the work Kwame already did (edited)
mradcliffe There are only around 20 rows in the Top 100 Modules tab that have categories filled out in the Old 100 tab. I highlighted a column in yellow where either the category info wasn't filled out or the module doesn't exist in the Old 100 tab.
mradcliffe I'll add that as a task in the issue
tim @mradcliffe I see you also added a total at the bottom. And nice use of indirect.I think it is you I should work with but correct me if wrong - It looked like there was a problem with col J .  It was going the whole length of the spreadsheet which was finding the next list underneath. (Or are you just treating col J as a helper col and don't really need that data what you really want is the info to the right???  In that case I need to remove the totals at the bottom of col J and let you go to it, because it won't matter ....)Actually I think I figured out another way .....@leslieg Do you want a total of the number of modules in each category if they have that category assigned ?It is too late for me to do it now, but will have it done as a sample in 8 or 10 hours probably (edited)
tim Also we could bring over other data like Total usage (couple months old though) etcJust do another vlookup ... (edited)
tim Delayed, will work on it tonight
leslieg @tim I’m not sure what Column J is for either. The counts of # of modules that are assigned to a particular category is helpful. It looks like Matthew’s totals are working, are you saying they are not? We could also add a lookup for total usage at some point - we would need to figure out how to calculate that across drupal 9+ releases
tim Calc across D9 releases isn't data I have yet. (at least that is what I think).starting on this new idea will have update soon - hope
tim @mradcliffe I would value your opinion if / when you have time to look at the proposed addition to that spreadsheet.I hide some columns mainly as helpers.I added a Total Usage Column, but note it is old data, still could be useful possibly.  It is possible the Categories have changed too but guessing not as often. (edited)
tim Sorry the column I wanted clarification on is now col K.   I wanted to add some totals, .... but it would mess up things .... I guess it all depends on what we are going for.    If we just need a summary or see all the columns that go out to the right. If I am confusing the waters and not helping get this done I will step back.  I am not pushing ....  I think It was helpful so did  :)
tim @leslieg @chrisfromredfin I have been working on a spreadsheet for a while now specifically for Categories, but can be useful other areas too.  There are several 'features' that would be easy to implement in another spreadsheet. Easy being I got the formulas figured out and can share them, or even combine features to get the desired results to help us narrow down what modules/projects/categories to really look at.  It would be so much easier if you know you have a small list that is the 'most likely' ,   Ie weed out all the extras.Really should be properly documented, but not my forte, Maybe somebody will offer to help there .... But I am going to work on a video to demonstrate the features, then we can pull just those features and put into whatever works good. I think that is the best way, but also open to other opinions.I would share sheet with everyone but it has bugs, half baked ideas, some features don't even work yet. I don't think its good to share something that doesn't work.I would love to show 1 or maybe 2 people the insides of what I am doing, but they need to know spreadsheets already probably.  Then they could help even in their own way.  I will try to get the video posted later this week.   Later plan on posting a different one on what I would like to see this be able to do (an application specific to this).Or I could do a screen share?? Then you could ask questions.FYI
chrisfromredfin Hey that's awesome! Send me videos in whatever draft state they have and I'll take a look. I think this could be immensely helpful; thank you!
leslieg You can also send the videos to me @tim
leslieg @tim Thanks for your efforts on the Top 100.  Could you please move the new columns you added to the top 100 spreadsheet  (columns k-s?)  to a new sheet titled Metadata  Also, please remove the Usage column (M) as the spreadsheet is already sorted in decreasing popularity order (usage) for Drupal 9
tim within the same spreadsheet right?will do. (edited)
leslieg yes and thanks for doing that
tim NP!
tim The usage column is gone.Regarding the k-s   -Would you like column I moved to that sheet as well?  In this attached pic the column on the left?
leslieg You can leave column i @tim
chrisfromredfin
tim It's copied over now, but will wait to delete the columns. - want to make sure that is what you are looking for and new people are in it now, they might see stuff disappearing and well less questions if I remove those columns later.  But is the new metadata sheet what you wanted?
leslieg @tim  I’m only seeing two columns (J and K) in the metadata sheet, Could you move what are now columns L through S instead. (I believe those were the new columns you added yesterday). They are helpful but cause a bit of disruption for folks looking to help with the Top 100 “New” sheet
tim In that case will remove those cols now.
tim Talk about removing what is now Col k -  The data to the right relies on Col K
leslieg Leave column k if the Category columns starting in column L rely on it
tim will leave
