Yes, I am already a co-maintainer, but in order to make a change to project "ownership" I need to follow the steps outlined in https://www.drupal.org/docs/develop/managing-a-drupalorg-theme-module-or...

Specifically, I had been reluctant to take over "ownership" of this project before, because that involved removing all mention of the original project creator from the project page. I didn't think that was right - the original project creator should continue to be recognized on the project page regardless of who is doing all the work currently.

That has now been fixed by the core issue #3099925: Display original project author instead of current node owner on project page. So the original creator of Mime Mail, @Allie Micka, will now show up as the project page creator now and forever. That is how it should be.

But the problem is, @Allie Micka hasn't contributed to this module at all for the past 11 years. It is time to pass on primary responsibility for day-to-day maintainership to someone who is actively involved in maintaining and improving this project. That is me.

So, following the link above, I am taking the initial step of posting here and contacting @Allie Micka directly to transfer ownership of this module to me.

I contacted Allie Micka using the following message.

Hello Allie,

I am contacting you because Tim (https://www.drupal.org/u/tr), currently maintainer (user with all the permissions on the project) for the Mime Mail module, a module you created and for which you are project owner, offered to become the new project owner.
May you write a comment on https://www.drupal.org/project/projectownership/issues/3266408 about accepting or declining the offer? Without a comment posted on that issue in the next 14 days, Tim will become the new project owner.

Best regards,
Alberto Paderno

First:

I cannot tell you how much this means to me. One of the reasons I haven't publicly contributed much throughout the past decade is because of people who did not feel similarly.

It is also accurate that I haven't been participating in Mime Mail development. Even when I've wanted to, so much has changed thanks to all the work that you and sgabe have done over the years.

So, yes, I approve of this ownership transfer. Thank you all!
