Problem/Motivation

Why is there no D8/9 version anymore? This module also provided non-commerce users to have a VAT number field. So I wonder why the support has dropped? I'm willing to put up myself supporting the D8/9 version if that is what it takes to have this module still alive.

Since this project has been marked as obsolete because the feature is implemented directly from the Commerce Core module, I wonder if it makes sense to add co-maintainers.

To proceed with this issue, was dwkitchen or bojanz contacted about this issue? Once that is done, this issue can be moved to the Drupal.org project ownership queue, 14 days after they are contacted.

There are also use cases where a non commerce user would like to check/add a VAT number. For example a company that needs the VAT number of their professional clients when contacting them.
