#3150294-99: New translations for moderated nodes are not created in the initial workflow state
I updated the summary with the current status, open question, and fresh screenshot.
TL;DR: We didn't understand the legacy behavior we're preserving with the BC layer / default setting. We called it "Current moderation state of the original content" but that's not how core currently works. New tests reveal it's actually: "either %published or %draft depending on the current moderation state of the original content." 😢
So I split off #3257186: [PP-1] Add a 'Current' option to the workflow translation_default_moderation_state_behavior setting to a follow-up, and am proposing the maintain existing behavior option is now called "Legacy". Help text refinement and UX team signoff requested.
