mindaugasd commentedThis below looks false for a fresh install. Attached a patch solving the issue.
Installation page was also full of other errors, maybe will file separate bug.
navneet0693 commentedThis patch will work, we also already did it in the dev version https://github.com/goalgorilla/open_social/commit/b741a447cd0773a0470c2e....
This was missed by us while working on https://www.drupal.org/project/social/issues/3194416
Comment #7
jepster_I can confirm that the patch from #4 works. The patch should be committed to the latest stable version, here on d.o. Otherwise the profile cannot even be installed.
Please test if the installation works, before releasing a version which is tagged as stable. This is not good for the image of your product.
ronaldtebrake commentedSorry about the inconvenience, it's ready to be patched soon.
Although you imply it can't be installed and we don't test our installations, that's far from the truth.
You can still install Open Social through drush, which is what we recommend
https://www.drupal.org/docs/distributions/open-social/installing-open-so...
We test this for every line of code we commit.
That said, we do understand Drush can't be installed everywhere and this is something you'd notice when running the installation through the interface, that's why we patched it with the necessary priority.

socialnicheguru commentedI absolutely appreciate @ronaldtebrake and the team. you guys are doing such an awesome job. i did realilzie from the last one that you shared, install using the composer command then run composer update.
That did work for me.
navneet0693 commentedThis is now solved in https://www.drupal.org/project/social/releases/10.0.1
Comment #11
heneryh commentedFixed, but please update the template file for 10.0.01 or maybe 10.0.x
https://github.com/goalgorilla/social_template/
Comment #12
Carlos Miranda Levy commentedThe error persists.
I tried a fresh install at 8:22 PM Tuesday, February 16, 2021 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC)
I got the same errors.
Carlos Miranda Levy commentedComment #14
Carlos Miranda Levy commentedFixed it by editing composer.json to change
"goalgorilla/open_social": "~10.0.0"into"goalgorilla/open_social": "~10.0"and then runningcomposer update --with-dependencies.Comment #15
ronaldtebrake commentedThanks for the updates, we have just updated the lock file in the social_template repo.
Which should also do the trick.
bas123 commentedSo, @ronaldtebrake, How do we affect the fix?
Is it a simple matter of running an update? Because following #14 I did manage to update to Social (social-10.0.1) but my Status Report still shows:
And doing an
drush updb -yrenders:My concerns, as I have stated elsewhere are that I have users who have enabled Facebook, Twitter, Google Auth logins, and need to know what to expect.
I am assuming that once these entries are removed, it will then allow us to reinstall the Social Auth and sub modules so that they may reside independent of OS, but would like to warn my users that they may (or will) need to re-enable the feature!
Additionally, if there are any other step-by-step measures available to allow us to convert to this new method of offering the one-click login alternatives, I would appreciate a reference to do so!
Thanks

jepster_@ronaldtebrake: If you like, you can check in the deGov installation profile, how the default Drupal installer can be tested via continuous integration pipelines with Behat. It's open source and maybe you can re-use it for open social: https://bitbucket.org/publicplan/degov/addon/pipelines/home
Comment #18
ronaldtebrake commentedThanks a lot for the reference @peter-majmesku that helps us a lot!
We have a similar pipeline running on github / travis also using behat, it just didnt have the Drupal installer tests (yet)
Feel free to check it out as well if it might help.
https://github.com/goalgorilla/open_social/pull/2241/checks?check_run_id...
@bas123 - That's a different issue, this one is actually solved, would be great to have it in a separate ticket.
ohmdesbois commentedHello,
It seems that the problem persists.
the command
composer create-project goalgorilla/social_template:dev-master DIR --no-interactionreturn
I tried with php 7.4 and php 8.0, it's the same result
Thanks for your work

mmjvb commentedSuggest to use official syntax:
ohmdesbois commentedHello, and thanks for your response.
I'm not sure I understand: I used the procedure given in
on the profile page https://www.drupal.org/project/social
This procedure seems to be official and it worked well until now.
Thank you for your clarifications
Best regards
Comment #23
mmjvb commentedDon't know why that format didn't work for you. Didn't try it myself, only tried the official syntax as shown above. Don't like to use the special format of package:version, always use a separate version. Not all commands support the special format.
Don't like the option --no-interaction as it does things you should be aware of. Only used --no-install to stop after downloading and prevent going installing everything.
ohmdesbois commentedThank you for this answer but what do you consider to be more official than the profile page, unless there is a need to make a ticket about it ?
For my part
composer create-project goalgorilla/social_template social dev-master --no-installgive
Thanks for your time.
Best regards
Comment #25
mmjvb commentedWith official syntax I was referring to the syntax as provided by Composer. Got the impression the official syntax also worked for you, apparently not.
Still no idea why it doesn't work on your side. Could you provide more information?
