pameeela Giving a short talk on bugsmash at the Sydney meetup on Thurs if anyone wants me to include anything.
quietone Do we have a plan for dealing with PP MNMI issues? There are now 63 of them.
amjad1233 Almost feel like having another initiative call “Features Smash” although it’s bad idea lol… (edited)
jonathanjfshaw PP MNMI?
jonathanjfshaw Ah, found it

2️⃣.1️⃣ Wins - what wins have you had this fortnight - share your successes!

lendude Actually found some time to do some triage on the Views issue queue, mainly going through the new issues, wasn’t as bad as I expected
lendude Oh, and build a script to get relevant bug data from the d.o API which was a nice side project :slightly_smiling_face:

2️⃣.2️⃣ Thanks - a space for callouts to other contributors who’ve helped you this fortnight

Griffyn Heels Thanks to @pameeela for the great comms over the past fortnight.
larowlan https://drupal.slack.com/archives/C226VLXBP/p1602191412242700?thread_ts=...

2️⃣.3️⃣ Blockers - what’s getting in the way of your issues / goals

larowlan time, spent some yesterday on the RTBC queue but only committed a few things unfortunately. Spent some time on triage today, for a few wins
quietone Still the same, getting reviews.
larowlan I’ve got some time for reviews this week if you want to send me some
pameeela we need more people :slightly_smiling_face:
Michael (g-brodiei) Got stuck on how to write a kernal test LOL, plus not enough time aside from work...Also trying to get my friends on board in contributing back by sharing some wins here (We need more incentives?). (edited)
larowlan did you have a specific issue with the kernel test, happy to help
Michael (g-brodiei) Cool! I'll ask in a proper manner with the context included once I redo the kernal test I wrote, thanks @larowlan
mohit.aghera #2623254: Menu link edit & delete routes do not retain the current language I can’t setup environment similar to D.O testing env. to reproduce test bot failures. I did tweaked my lando setup, but test cases are still passing. (edited)

3️⃣ Core bug statistics - current state of open bugs

larowlan we closed 95 this week, for 61 new issues so a net win of ~34 kudos
larowlan thanks to lendude who ran some queries against d.o and produced this chart
larowlan I added the outlier http://drupal.org/node/3433 to our tag
lendude I looked at running some more numbers on this, but since we clearly have no normal distribution, looking at averages and standard deviations tell us very little
lendude For clarity, these are the number of issues in bins of 50 days
lendude I wrote a script to mine this data from the d.o API so I can run these numbers whenever we want and when we get some moer data sets we might be able to tell some more about trends and stuff
lendude I was thinking of running it every month or so (which might be more often then e need, but lets find out)

4️⃣ Nominate your pet issue for a bug-smash target for the next fortnight

larowlan http://drupal.org/node/3433 opened 17+ years ago 3 Oct 2003
quietone Nice, another old one.
quietone #2845340: migrate mapping & messages table names are truncated, can lead to incorrect mapping lookups
mohit.aghera Resolve test case failures in #3067007: LanguageNegotiationUrlFallback should use content language for TYPE_URL fallback (edited)
dww If #1538118: Update status does not verify the identity or authenticity of the release history URL were resolved, I'd say https://www.drupal.org/project/drupal/issues/961060 would be the next big Update Manager bug to resolve...
lendude Oh no, the long running issue is actually in Views! I hadn’t seen that yet :scream_cat:
larowlan it was a feature request until recently

5️⃣ Help me - Is there anything you could use a :hand: with?

quietone Writing a test for #1087250: Custom logo and favicon stored in private filesystem if it is the default
amjad1233 #3126783: Image align center not working#comment-13856029@larowlan In the comment above, Do you mean before and after like a Visual Diff ?
larowlan Yeah, thanks!
amjad1233 Awesome adding that.
dww #1538118: Update status does not verify the identity or authenticity of the release history URL needs someone else to review.  I'm the primary patch author, so we need other folks to dive in.  As Update Manager issues goes, it's both a) smaller patch and b) less scary than many, it's all pretty simple stuff.  So please don't let update.module component scare you. ;)  Bonus points for security-minded thorough review, but even nitpicky cosmetic review of the code and comments would be progress.  Thanks!
larowlan I will offer a review swap on ^, i.e if someone reviews the update manager issue, I’ll review a patch of their chosing
mohit.aghera @quietone #1087250: Custom logo and favicon stored in private filesystem if it is the default are you writing test case or expecting someone to pick up? (edited)
quietone I started on it a weeks ago. Let me see if I can find where I left it. I'll look now but it is getting late and I have a busy day tomorrow, may not be until tomorrow night.

6️⃣ What are you listening :headphones: to or watching :tv: at the moment?

quietone Unfortunately, listening to BTS which my daughter enjoys.
larowlan Watching The Bureau and listening to rolling stone’s 500 greatest albums playlist on shuffle (edited)
acbramley Schitt’s Creek
Kristen Pol (she/her) Not watching anything right now but finished Silicon Valley awhile ago and, if you are okay with NSFW media, I found it pretty hilarious. Been listening to a variety of things but Indie Pop more than other things: https://open.spotify.com/playlist/37i9dQZF1DXaLaoaQqrfyO?si=mRe1bq3BQRSc...
Michael (g-brodiei) "Ultimate Cover" on spotify, a mix of all the memorable cover acoustic songs~ you might just accidentally sing along LoL (not me tho) (edited)
dww Y'all could be listening to me. ;)https://www.youtube.com/user/derekwrightmusichttps://open.spotify.com/al... (edited)
lendude Just finished watching the Umbrella Academy and listening to punk rock/Metallica/TOOL and Studio Brussel when I want to find out what’s new
Paulo Henrique Cota Starling https://soundcloud.com/suz4rt/grouch-universo-paralello-15-20192020 to wake up with energy (edited)

7️⃣ @pameeela "Giving a short talk on bugsmash at the Sydney meetup on Thurs if anyone wants me to include anything."

Griffyn Heels This is great, I'll definitely come
larowlan what time?
Griffyn Heels https://www.meetup.com/drupalsydney/events/czsmwpybcnbtb/
larowlan perhaps suggest its a great chance to get involved in core development, and in a friendly timezone
pameeela @larowlan shared my slides with you
larowlan Looks great!
Kristen Pol (she/her) I signed up in case i can make it

8️⃣ @quietone "Do we have a plan for dealing with PP MNMI issues? There are now 63 of them."

larowlan Did we say 2 years? there was a big conversation about this in one of first meetings
quietone Yep, should have read the docs first. Looks like it is 12 months.https://www.drupal.org/community-initiatives/bug-smash-initiative/issue-... and #3150457: Meeting of the Bug Smash Initiative 2020-06-09
pameeela i updated a bunch of mine recently to close them
larowlan docs++
pameeela it's 12 months after initially asking for more info too, not necessarily the status change. i postponed a bunch where there was no response to a follow up, and i closed them after 2 months of no reponse.
quietone Let's get that detail on https://www.drupal.org/community-initiatives/bug-smash-initiative/issue-...
pameeela oh hmm, i wonder where that came from
pameeela that's kind of an alternate version of what came out of the issue discussion
pameeela man these templates are a lot :joy:
quietone yes, they are but they are a good resource.
pameeela this is the original discussion, it doesn't completely align with the templates
pameeela #3156572: [policy, no patch] Adopt a set of guidelines for closing stale bug reports
Kristen Pol (she/her) I missed something. What's PP MNMI stand for? (edited)
pameeela postponed, maintainer needs more info
Kristen Pol (she/her) Ah! I guess I should've been able to figure that out. Thanks :)
Kristen Pol (she/her) I think the double P threw me
dww See also https://www.drupal.org/project/project_issue/issues/156704 if anyone has ideas about anything automatically happening about them...

That’s a wrap folks, this weeks Bugsmash meeting is over. Thanks all for coming! Please feel free to keep chatting in the threads.

Michael (g-brodiei) Thank you @Griffyn Heels!
Griffyn Heels No problemo Michael
