Problem/Motivation

So my shared hosting wont update to MariaDB 10.3.7 so this effectively means I either have to open another reseller account (very expensive, I'm a site builder on a budget), or wait for them to update (unknown period) before I can start developing d9 sites (well, actually, I made a couple on my local machine before realising this requirement existed when I tried to upload them to my server.

On issue 3120124 it says "For people still stuck on 10.2, create a contrib driver" - where might this be? How might I get it to work?

Help/advice on my predicament appreciated!

Hi @benjarlett: The database driver that you need is https://www.drupal.org/project/mysql56. The minimum version for MariaDB is 10.1. So that should work with your hosting. Could you report back with the result of using this database driver?

Should we move this to that queue?
