Unless the user knows to look in the browsers address bar there's no what of knowing which event type the user is about to create a series in.

A site builder is likely to know where to look but a content creator/editor wont.

Can you confirm the patch actually applied at the composer level? Does it display on the add form? I see it doesn't display on the edit form so I'll get that addressed, but it should be displaying on the add form.
