The fix should have been to set the height to 20px instead of 30px since when the admin menu is fixed to top, there is additional css style that sets body to margin-top of 20px. Now we are left with top part of body content being cutoff.

Definitely an issue; the extra 10 pixel strip of black partly covered an important button in my case. I had to override the height value to get things back to normal. It might make sense to set everything (font size, body margin, toolbar height) in em instead of px.

30px should be there only when Toolbar style is enabled.
