gisle has expressed interest in helping with certain webmaster issues here on drupal.org. Specifically he wants to be able to help with project ownership issues.
He has shown his dedication to the project and his trustworthiness as member of the Licensing Working Group. He shows good understanding of our documentation and is known for following our guidelines closely. I stand by to answer any questions about procedure he might have in the future.
I would welcome his addition to the team very much specifically to dealing with ownership issues which at the moment tend to more or less a playing field for myself alone. I don't think that is sustainable.

As side note: Being able to revoke the Git access permission to users requires a different role.

I don't want (or need) git-admin privileges. What I plan to do if granted access is to help sorting ownership and co-maintainer issues for orphaned projects in the Drupal.org project ownership queue.

I apologize: I should have made clear I was commenting about a permission I would see of benefit for a member of the DLWG.

I don't want to sound pushy, but this has been sitting in the issue queue for more than a year and nobody has objected to the proposal (and some have even supported it – thanks!).

I've learnt from a comment from Alberto Paderno (kiamlaluno) in an unrelated issue that:

As for getting roles, that is not merely a matter of reviews, but reaching the administrator users, who are the only ones who can assign roles to users. It seems they don't visit the webmaster queue, and there isn't a queue specific for tasks only administrator users can do.

The page describing Advanced user roles policy talks about a "mailing list" that is only available to Drupal Association staff and users with advanced access (i.e. it is not available to me).

If a webmaster is allowed to use use this mailing list as a means of contact to an administrator, can one of you be so kind and use the mailing list to request that an administrator visit this particular issue and perhaps also this one: #2929008: Grant Gisle and Shawn DeArmond permission to create whitelist nodes. Remove perm from all other users..

I think that mailing list is mainly for communications from Drupal Association, not to communicate with them.

There was once a page for mailing lists, but I don't find it anymore.

I have granted @gisle the webmaster role (and the Packaging whitelist maintainer role, but see #2929008: Grant Gisle and Shawn DeArmond permission to create whitelist nodes. Remove perm from all other users. for more details on that)

Thanks for dropping us a line to notify/remind of this issue! Sadly issue notifications sometimes fall off the radar.

@gisle - thanks for your service to the community and for everything you do to support the Drupal project! It's good to have your help.

gisle - please be more careful when deleting spam. #3107446: 404 on new user page your project page is caused by a page you deleted, instead of reverting to the previous version. book pages and documentation are occasionally hijacked by spammers, they should not be deleted if is existing content that was overwritten.

I'm sorry. I'll be more careful in the future.
