Strategic functionality from Media: Acquia DAM has been brought into Acquia DAM 1.1.5+. Migrate Today!

Drupal Integration with Acquia DAM

Acquia DAM is a cloud-based digital asset management solution that seamlessly integrates with the Acquia digital experience platform. Acquia DAM allows marketers to connect their visual content – like graphics, logos, photos, videos, presentations, PDF documents, and more – for greater visibility and brand consistency across their digital experiences. . These assets can then be delivered downstream to the Acquia Platform for creating dynamic, personalized experiences.

This module provides a strong integration with Acquia DAM (Widen) or Acquia DAM Classic (WebDAM).

When do I need this?

Every Acquia DAM customer delivering digital experiences through Drupal should use this integration.

How does it work?

The integration allows Drupal content authors to browse the Acquia DAM repository and search by keyword to find the assets to use within their content. Assets can be added through the WYSIWYG editor or a field. Selected assets are copied to Drupal and stored as Media Entity references, and image styles are rendered.

  • Deep integration with Drupal’s file management system
  • Ability to search assets within Acquia DAM and use filtering options through the Entity Browser.
  • Assets are copied to Drupal and stored as Media Entity references so image styles are respected.
  • Metadata fields in Acquia DAM can be mapped into Drupal fields upon configuration. When the asset is copied down, the metadata is pulled down as well.
  • Data sync process through a cron job to ensure the most up-to-date information from Acquia DAM is reflected in Drupal. When assets or metadata are updated in Acquia DAM, the updates are pulled down.
  • Allow for governance of assets to be handled in Acquia DAM and that is respected. If an asset is expired or deleted in Acquia DAM it is removed from the media library.
  • If using Acquia DAM (Widen), additional visibility of the integration location alongside the asset details can be found in Acquia DAM. Users in Acquia DAM will know if an asset is being used within Drupal Content when managing the asset.

Important: The 2.x branch is not compatible with the Acquia DAM Classic Service

The 2.x branch of the Media: Acquia DAM module provides functionality for the Acquia DAM service backed by Widen. If your site uses the Acquia DAM Classic service (backed by WebDAM), you should use the 1.x branch of the module instead. Module versions are not cross-compatible across services.

Sites which previously used Acquia DAM Classic and have migrated to the newer version of Acquia DAM can use this module to assist with the migration.
