I was running into this while trying to find a saved backup. The ability to sort and perhaps also filter by date range would be a nice addition especially with bigger installs.

Would love to see this get into the next release, the saved backup interface is practically unusable without sorting.

I looked at the patch but didn't apply it because i'm not on the dev branch, but it seems reasonable to me.

If you really wanted to go full out, you could use Views, so the entire Saved backups interface could be customized.

But this patch is step in the right direction regardless.
