I am using the event module, but I'd like to be able to import some other groups' iCal feeds into my site's calendar. I have read several threads about this but can't tell what the correct answer is. What is needed for this? Can it be done with Event? Date? Date importer? Google API? Once I have the right system, how does one go about importing the feed?

I'm using Drupal 5x. Thanks a lot.

As an aside, I would use the google cal directly, but it doesn't really work in the side bar because my sidebar is only 200 pixels. Does anyone know if it is possible to edit the google embed code to either make the text smaller or get rid of the times so that it fits in a sidebar?

I'm just looking into using the date api and the calendar module, rather than the event module.
Mainly because the developer for the date api and calendar seems incredibly productive.

With the date module there is an ical module. Essentially, once enabled you only need give the module the url to your ical feed, and it will be integrated with your site calendar. At this point you cannot have more than one calendar, though you can import as many feeds into your one calendar as you'd like.

In google calendar you can find this url by selecting the dropdown menu by the calendar listing (to the left of the calendar) going to calendar settings and clicking "ical" under the calendar address section.

Can anyone describe in more detail how to import an ical feed into a drupal calendar? I have been unable to find any field in which to enter a feed address.

I wrote a module that does just that (but it's for Drupal 6.x):

http://groups.drupal.org/node/13720

It creates a block for each calendar you want, you can set what fields display and how many events to show for each.

For Drupal 7 you can use the feeds module along with the date_ical module to ingest iCal feeds and create a drupal node for each event.
