This module doesn't work well with the module called Auto Login URL. Auto Login URL, as the name suggests, logs in a user automatically when they click on a URL that has a secret code embedded in it.
These are both excellent modules, so definitely no criticism... I love them both :)
The problem:
Login Destination correctly redirects to the specified page after a login... however it does this even when Auto Login URL has a redirect set up, when a user clicks on the 'auto login link'.
Solution:
It would be great if these two modules could somehow work out a logical way of working together, that doesn't break either one, and doesn't change current functionality enjoyed by existing users.
As ever, I'm up for helping wherever I can. I'm trying to jump in at the deep end with Drupal, so this would be an excellent opportunity for me to learn, and also to support the community. However I'm open to whatever works best for everyone. Thanks!
Note: I put this down as a Feature Request, as it isn't a bug for either module, it's more about how two modules interact.
My dream result:
I would suggest that Login Destination gives priority to Auto Login URL redirects. All standard logins would still redirect using Login Destination, but users clicking on a coded login link (via Auto Login URL), would get redirected as that module requires.
Update:
I checked settings in Login Destination; 'One-time login link' is unchecked, so should this mean the redirect doesn't happen when a one-time login link is clicked? Is the Auto Login URL module link, seen by your module as a 'one-time login link'?

dalinMight be worth investigating the solution in #3060249: Don't override an existing destination GET parameter which worked to resolve similar incompatibilities with r4032login module.

Today I only have the time to tell you I've seen your posts and will try my best to look at them ASAP.

gaurav.kapoor commentedI tested this issue, and it still exists. Despite using the auto redirect login URL, user is still redirected to destination set by login destination module. I will check if there is an easy way to prevent this from happening, or else we can mention it in the documentation.

gaurav.kapoor commentedAdded a patch with a simple condition to prevent login destination from performing redirects in case user is logging in via Auto Login URL module. Also, added this information in the README file.
After doing these changes, the user is redirected to path set while generating a auto login URL. Due to an issue in Auto Login URL module, you will also have to apply the patch from https://www.drupal.org/project/auto_login_url/issues/2930239.
